Nibbinda Forest Monastery : ウィキペディア英語版 | Nibbinda Forest Monastery
Nibbinda Forest Monastery (中文: Nibbinda丛林道场) is a Theravada forest monastery situated at Mukim 5, Balik Pulau, Penang, Malaysia. The monastery is located on top of a hill in Balik Pulau. Surrounded by mountains and facing the sea, the beautiful yet serene place is an ideal spot for the monks to cultivate disgust with worldly life. A small town with simple folks living at the foot of the hill makes the monastery more suitable to establish as the pure land in this world. == History == In the early of 2009, Nibbinda Forest Monastery was officially offered to The Most Venerable Pa Auk Tawya Sayadaw and thus the monastery was named by Venerable Pa Auk Sayadaw. The meaning of “nibbinda” is “disgust with worldly life”. By leaving the hustle and bustle of the worldly life, the monks will be able to learn and practise Buddha’s teachings in a comfortable environment.
